Remote Sessions

Remote Training Sessions for You and Your Dog

-One to One

-Group

As the availability of this type of specialized training is limited, remote training sessions via video call can also be arranged.

These are also a great way to begin training sessions when the weather does not allow for location training.

I conduct a consultation call before finalizing any remote bookings, this allows me to advise any training aids necessary before our first session.

Wherever You Are, We Can Work Together

We’re based in Scotland and cover the full UK in person, from the sea lochs of the west coast to reservoirs and rivers further south. But dogs and water behave much the same everywhere, and the truth is that most of the important work happens long before anyone gets wet.

That’s why remote sessions have become such a big part of what we do. Alongside clients across the UK and Ireland, I work with dog owners in the USA, across the EU and in Australia. Specialist canine paddlesports training is thin on the ground in most places, and a video call means you don’t have to live near a Scottish loch to get it.

How remote sessions work across time zones

Every remote booking starts with a consultation call, so I can get to know you and your dog and advise on any training aids you’ll need before we begin. From there we agree a time that genuinely suits you. Early mornings and evenings here in Scotland cover North America and Australia comfortably, and European clients usually slot in around a normal working day.

What we can achieve on a video call

More than most people expect. The foundations of confident paddling are built on dry land, and every one of these is something I can coach you through remotely:

  • Recall work, the single most important skill before any dog goes near the water
  • Stability and balance conditioning on unstable surfaces at home
  • A calm “on” and “off” cue, using a beached board or a household stand-in
  • Fitting and introducing a canine buoyancy aid properly
  • Reading your dog’s body language, so you know when to push on and when to stop
  • Kit checks, and planning a safe, short first trip on your local water

I’ll watch your dog on camera, spot the habits you’ve stopped noticing, and set you practical homework between sessions. Plenty of clients build the groundwork remotely and then join us in Scotland for the on-water work.

One honest limitation

I can teach you the training, but I can’t assess your local water from Scotland. Wherever you paddle, please check the conditions and the rules that apply where you are. Here buoyancy aids are mandatory under Scottish loch bylaws, and we never paddle with a lead attached to the dog. I’d stand by both of those anywhere in the world.

Join us and discover the joy of paddling side-by-side with your best friend.
